What time do ticket sales close?
The closing time for sales for a Wednesday Lotto draw is 7:30pm AEST in the majority of states. The one exception is Western Australia, where you must enter by 6:00pm AWST.
How do I play Wednesday Lotto?
You play Wednesday Lotto by selecting six numbers from 1 to 45. You can play in a variety of different ways, including system entries and pick entries. Visit the How to Play page for more information.
What is the cost to play?
The cost for the minimum play of four games is $2.50.
How do the supplementary numbers work?
As well as the six main winning numbers, two supplementary numbers are also selected at random. These are drawn from the remaining 39 balls left after the first six have been selected. You do not select supplementary numbers on your playslip. They are drawn to give you more ways to win prizes.
How many numbers win on Wednesday Lotto?
To win a prize, you just need to match one main number plus both supplementary numbers. The value of prizes increases as you match more numbers. If you get all six main numbers, you win the jackpot. To learn more about all the different prize divisions, go to the Dividends page.
What is the Wednesday Lotto jackpot?
The Division 1 prize in Wednesday Lotto is $1 million. This is a fixed amount per winner and can be awarded to up to four players in a single draw.
What happens if more than four players win?
If more than four players win the Division 1 prize, the payout for each one will be reduced. The maximum that can be paid out in total for Division 1 is $4 million, so this would have to be divided evenly. If there were five winners, for example, they would each receive $800,000.
What is a Double Your Win draw?
Double Your Win draws give you the chance to win bigger prizes than normal. As the name suggests, the value of payouts is doubled. This applies to all prize divisions except the jackpot, which stays fixed at $1 million per winner. Double Your Win draws are called Double Win Days in Western Australia.
How do Cashcade Celebrations work?
In a Cashcade Celebration, $1 million is guaranteed to be won in every draw. If no tickets match all the main numbers, the prize ‘cascades’ down to all the other prize divisions, increasing the value of payouts. Cashcade Celebrations usually run for a few weeks, so there may be several draws when the lower prizes are boosted.
What are the odds of winning Wednesday Lotto?
The odds of matching all six numbers to win the Division 1 prize are 1 in 8,145,060.
How do I claim a prize if I win?
The process for claiming prizes depends on a number of factors, such as how much you have won and where you purchased your ticket. For smaller prizes you just need to go to a store to collect your money, while for larger prizes you need to claim by post or visit a lottery head office. Go to the How to Claim page to learn more about what to do if you win. You must claim your prize in the same state where you bought your Wednesday Lotto entry.
