La Primitiva

La Primitiva gives you the chance to play for a huge jackpot twice a week. It is a Spanish lottery that is among the oldest established games in the world today, with roots dating back to the 18th century. Its popularity has now spread beyond Spain, especially with online services that make it possible to take part from other countries.

How to Play La Primitiva

Draws are held every Friday and Sunday morning AEST. You can’t pick up tickets from stores in Australia, but you can enjoy the game online by following the steps below:

Tonight's La Primitiva Jackpot:
$3 Million!*

You can go to the La Primitiva Results page straight after each draw to see if you have won a prize, but if you are playing online you will be automatically notified anyway if you have matched enough numbers.

How to Win

To win the jackpot, you must match all six main numbers plus the Reintegro number. Reintegro is translated as ‘refund’ in Spanish and if you match the Reintegro number you receive a refund to the equivalent of €1, even if you don’t match any of the main numbers.

There are seven prize divisions in total, so you also win if you match three or more main numbers. A bonus number, also known as the complementary number or Complementario, is also drawn. Match the complementary number and it will boost the value of your prize if you just miss out on one of the main balls.

The following table shows all the different prize divisions and the odds of winning in each category.

Division Numbers Matched Odds of Winning Percentage of Prize Fund
1 6 + Reintegro 1 in 139,838,160 20%
2 6 1 in 13,983,816 40%
3 5 + Complementario 1 in 2,330,636 6%
4 5 1 in 55,491 13%
5 4 1 in 1,032 21%
6 3 1 in 56.6 €8
7 0 + Reintegro 1 in 10 €1

The jackpot grows if there are no winners and it has even been known to climb higher than €100 million.

La Primitiva Joker

The Joker is a supplementary game that you can add to your ticket for a small extra fee. A random seven-digit number will be generated for you and the aim of the game is to match as many of them in the right order as you can, starting from the front or the back. A winning Joker number is selected at random alongside the main draw.

The top prize is €1 million if all seven of your numbers are the same as the winning numbers. This is a fixed amount per winner so you don’t have to share if there are multiple winners. The following table shows all the prizes and odds of winning:

Division Numbers Matched in Order Odds of Winning Prize
1 All 7 1 in 10,000,000 €1 million
2 First 6 or Last 6 1 in 555,555 €10,000
