Cash 3 FAQs
Get the answers to the most frequently asked questions about Cash 3. From purchasing tickets to winning prizes, you can find out about various topics below.
When do Cash 3 draws take place?
Draws take place every single day in the evening in Western Australia.
What is the draw closure time?
The cut-off time for sales is 5:00pm every day. If you miss this deadline you will have to enter the following day’s draw.
How do I play Cash 3?
You play Cash 3 by choosing three numbers from 0 to 9. You must select a play type, indicating whether you will try to match the winning numbers in the exact order they are drawn or in any order. Go to the How to Play page for a detailed guide.
How much does it cost to play?
You can choose to wager $0.50 or $1 per entry. If you win a prize, your payout will be twice as much if you selected the $1 wager.
How much can I win?
The prizes you can win are fixed amounts according to your play type and how much you spend on your entry. The most you can win for a single entry is $500 - if you play an ‘Exact Order’ wager and pay $1. Go to the Dividends page for more information.
What are the odds of winning?
The odds of matching all three numbers in the exact order are 1 in 1,000. The odds for matching the numbers in any order are lower, but they also depend on whether you have played a ‘3 Way’ or ‘6 Way’ entry.
What are ‘3 Way’ and ‘6 Way’ wagers?
There are different prizes and odds depending on which play type you choose and the combination of numbers you enter. A ‘3 Way’ wager is one in which two of your three numbers are the same and one is different, for example 112. It is known as ‘3 Way’ because there are three possible combinations of those numbers (112, 121, 211).
If you choose three different numbers, this is known as a ‘6 Way’ bet because there are six possible combinations. For example, the numbers 123 can also be ordered 132, 213, 231, 312 and 321. The payouts are higher for 3 Way wagers as there is less chance of winning.
How can the same number appear more than once?
Each of the winning digits is selected from a separate set of numbers between 0 and 9. It is therefore possible for the same number to appear two or even three times in a winning set. You can also choose the same number multiple times when you play.
Do you win prizes for matching one or two numbers?
No. You have to match all the numbers to win a prize. You must match them according to the play type you have entered, so you would not win if you played an ‘Exact Order’ entry and your three numbers came up in a different order.
What happens if nobody wins the top prize?
The prize amounts are fixed for every draw so they do not roll over or get bigger if nobody wins.
Can I play both ‘Exact Order’ and ‘Any Order’?
Yes, you can play both ways on the same playslip. This gives you the opportunity to win the maximum prize if your numbers are drawn in the positions you want, but still receive a payout if they come out in a different order. However, you have to pay for both an ‘Exact Order’ entry and an ‘Any Order’ entry.
Where can I play Cash 3?
Cash 3 is only available in Western Australia. You will not find the game in other parts of the country.
