Residents of Hervey Bay have been urged to check their Oz Lotto tickets after someone from the city won Tuesday’s First Division prize of $30 million. The jackpot had grown to its largest amount since 18th July following a run of four draws without a winner, and mystery now surrounds the identity of the lucky player who matched all seven main numbers, as the ticket was an unregistered purchase.
The winning Oz Lotto numbers were 4, 8, 16, 27, 28, 35 and 45, with Supplementary numbers 22 and 34. Take a look at the Oz Lotto Results page to find a breakdown of all 561,253 prizes won last night, as attention now turns to tracking down the new multimillionaire.
It was quickly announced that the winning ticket was sold on Queensland’s Fraser Coast, and a spokesperson for Golden Casket later confirmed that the search has been narrowed down to Hervey Bay. Spokesman Matt Hart said: “Imagine how different today could have been knowing you were $30 million richer! We can only imagine who the winner is and where their winning ticket might be – is it in a wallet or purse, tucked in the car glovebox or hiding in plain sight on the fridge door? We can’t wait to confirm this whopping prize with our mystery winner! Just imagine how $30 million could change your life and the lives of your nearest and dearest.”
Hervey Bay has a habit of delivering big lottery wins, and just last weekend a retired woman from the area won $1.6 million in the $20 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw. She bought her ticket Torquay News, 430 The Esplanade, Torquay.
Hervey Bay also holds the record for Australia’s biggest win on a single ticket, after a couple of grandparents from the city who had ‘skimped and saved’ throughout their lives won a $70 million Powerball jackpot in January 2016.
As the wait begins for the latest lucky winner to come forward, players can look forward to the next Oz Lotto draw and a chance to $2 million. The First Division prize in Powerball is also up to $15 million ahead of the next draw. Tickets for all Australian National Lottery games can be bought from authorised retailers, or you can choose numbers online. Good luck!
