Search Still On for $20 Million Oz Lotto Jackpot Winner
Last Updated: Tuesday, 20 July 2021, 10:16am
The identity of the $20 million Oz Lotto winner from 6 July remains a mystery, with lottery officials urging everyone in the Bendigo area of Victoria to check their tickets.
The seven main winning numbers for the draw on 6 July were 19, 21, 25, 32, 33, 42 and 44. Only one entry from across the country matched all seven numbers, and it was quickly announced that the ticket was sold at Golden Square Newsagency, 303 High Street, Golden Square.
However, the ticket was not connected to a lottery card, so officials were not able to contact the winner directly as they like to be able to do. When winning entries are unregistered, it is down to the player to come forward to claim their prize.
While it has only been a couple of weeks since the draw, representatives from lottery operator The Lott are keen to spread the word of the big win so the ticket holder does not miss out on an eight-figure payday.
“We can’t wait to confirm this exciting news with our mystery winner. We just want to bring this mystery to an end,” said Ally Ramsamy, a spokesperson for The Lott.
“Just imagine how $20 million might change your life, and the lives of your nearest and dearest. There are 20 million reasons why all players in Bendigo who had an entry in a recent Oz Lotto draw should check their ticket.
“We’re in the business of paying prizes, so we’re holding out hope of uniting this winner with their prize as soon as possible.
“On the two-week milestone, we’re making a public appeal to share the news of the unclaimed prize with your family and friends, and on social media in the hope the winner will be found.”
Where To Check Tickets
Golden Square Newsagency owner Bill Roberts is also hoping that the wait for the winner to come forward won’t last much longer.
He said: “We’ve been encouraging all of our players to check the bottoms of their handbags, car glove boxes, fridges, or absolutely anywhere they may have left their ticket.
“Hopefully, this news has spread wide and far, and our winner discovers this exciting news soon.”
There are different lottery cards available depending on where you live in Australia, from Tatts Cards in Victoria, Tasmania and the Northern Territory to the Winner’s Circle in Queensland or the Player’s Club in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.
The advantage of owning a lottery card and being a registered member is that your numbers are far more secure. Your purchase information is stored on the card and it is all linked to the central database, so you will be contacted if you win in Division 1. All other prizes will automatically be paid out to you. This all means you don’t have to worry about checking your tickets or missing out on prizes.
As the wait for the Oz Lotto winner continues, you can look forward to the next draw and keep an eye out for all the latest Australian Lottery Results throughout the week.
