Saturday Lotto Superdraw to Offer $20 Million Jackpot on 2 November

Last Updated: Monday 28 October 2019, 11:54 am

The Saturday Lotto First Division prize will be increased to a guaranteed $20 million for a Superdraw on 2 November, with players across Australia able to set their sights on grabbing a share of one of the biggest jackpots of the year.

Superdraws only take place a few times a year in Saturday Lotto, and it has been announced that the upcoming Superdraw will be the sixth and final one of 2019. The most recent was held on 31 August, when seven ticket holders ended up receiving more than $2.8 million.

The jackpot is typically $20 million, up from the standard $4 million. There are usually multiple winners, so each lucky player lands a share of a far bigger prize fund than normal when a Superdraw takes place. You have to match six numbers from 1 to 45 to win the First Division prize.

Albury Man To Share $1 Million With Mum

In the most recent Saturday Lotto draw on 26 October, four participants split the $4 million jackpot to each become millionaires. One of them, a man from Albury in New South Wales, revealed that he only bought his ticket because he was out with his mum and she said she had a ‘good feeling’ about it.

“If I hadn’t been shopping with her, I probably wouldn’t have bought it, so I certainly owe this win to my mum. She was in tears when I told her I’d won,” said the man, who purchased his ticket at Thurgoona Plaza Newsagency, Shop 9, Thurgoona Plaza, 10 Shuter Avenue in Thurgoona.

He has decided to remain anonymous but is not sure yet how he will spend the money. He said: “I need to have a good think about what I’m going to do. I’ve been planning to buy a new home for quite some time now so this will certainly pay for that. Of course I will be sharing the prize with my mum as well.”

Two of the other three winning tickets on Saturday were sold in Victoria, while the other was sold in Queensland. The Queensland ticket belonged to a retired woman from Brisbane, who needed to call a friend late at night to come round and check that she wasn’t seeing things.

She revealed that the first thing she wanted to do with her $1 million prize was help her children, and she also wanted to buy a new car.

Big Winners in 2019

There have now been 306 jackpot winners in 2019 across lottery operator The Lott’s range of games. These include some of the biggest First Division prizes ever to have been won in Australia, such as the record $150 million Powerball jackpot that was split between three winning tickets.

The big prizes will keep on coming for the rest of the year, with the Saturday Lotto Superdraw this weekend next on the agenda. Use the Lottery Checker to find out if you are due a prize from any recent draw, and then look forward to your chance to win a share of $20 million.
