New “Million-YEAH Saturday” Lotto Draw Announced for Saturday 27 July
Last Updated: Friday, 30 July 2021, 10:13am
A new special Saturday Lotto draw took place on 27 July. The one-off "Million-YEAH Saturday" event offered up to eight jackpot winners a prize of $1 million. Find out more about how the special draw unfolded.
The Million-YEAH Saturday draw worked the same way as a regular Saturday Lotto draw, but with a boosted first division prize. Up to eight first division prize winners were guaranteed a $1 million jackpot each – more than double the prize per winner in the 20 July Saturday Lotto draw. If more than eight players matched all six numbers to win the top prize, then $8 million would be shared between them.
As it happened, there were exactly eight winners on the night, so the full $8 million prize fund was given away. The winning numbers from the draw were 11, 13, 23, 27, 35, and 38, with supplementary numbers 5 and 8. Go to the Results page to see further details about the draw.
The special event was a one-off. Since the special draw involved a fixed prize guaranteed to up to eight players, and there was no conventional jackpot to win, the event’s prize money would not have rolled over to the next draw in the unlikely event that there were no winners.
Recent Lotto Jackpot Winners
The special draw came after 12 lucky ticket holders from across Australia split a $4.3 million Saturday Lotto jackpot on 20 July, each receiving over $359,000. The numbers for the 20 July Saturday Lotto draw were 42, 12, 2, 18, 8, 30, with supplementary numbers 39 and 14. Three of the winning tickets were sold in Queensland; three were sold in Perth; two were sold in New South Wales; three were sold in Tasmania; and one was sold in South Australia.
A single ticket holder matched all six numbers to lay claim to the entirety of a $1 million Monday Lotto jackpot on 22 July. The numbers for the Monday Lotto draw were 25, 4, 3, 38, 17 and 27, with supplementary numbers 18 and 29. The winning ticket was bought in Queensland, however the identity of the winner is not yet known.
Record-Breaking Powerball Jackpot Won
On Thursday 18 July, three tickets shared a first division Powerball prize of $110 million – the largest Powerball jackpot ever offered, and the second-biggest jackpot in Australian lottery history. The winners, who each receive a $36.6 million share in the jackpot, bought their tickets in Adelaide, Victoria and New South Wales respectively.
The Adelaide winner got a little more than he bargained for, after a Powerhit ticket won him an extra $1 million in second division prizes. “I was definitely not expecting this phone call,” he quipped when contacted to confirm his multi-million dollar win, “just like everyone who buys a ticket, you never think it’s going to actually happen to you!”
