Last Updated: Friday, 30 July 2021, 10:11am

A woman from South Gippsland in Victoria has declared that she is still ‘floating on cloud nine’ after winning $2 million in the Saturday Lotto Superdraw. Remarkably, it isn’t even the first time she has landed a major prize.

The lucky lady received a six-figure payout in Division 1 a few years ago but is such a fan of the game that she has never stopped playing, and on 25 July she matched all the main numbers again. This time the winning line was 6, 9, 16, 32, 37 and 44, with supplementary numbers 11 and 12.

The Saturday Lotto - also known as TattsLotto in Victoria - jackpot was $20 million as it was a Superdraw. There were ten winners from across the country - four from New South Wales, three from Victoria, and one each from Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia.

Discovering she had become $2 million richer, the woman from South Gippsland admitted it would take some time to sink in. She told an official from lottery operator The Lott: “It’s a good feeling. I think I’ll be numb for a little while yet.”

“I play TattsLotto every week without fail. I’ve played since TattsLotto started. This is actually the second time I’ve won a major prize. A few years ago now I won a few hundred thousand in division one. I consider myself very lucky. I’m very lucky, indeed.”

    Winner Will Keep Playing

The winner, who has decided to remain anonymous, is looking forward to sharing her winnings with her family. She also has no intention of giving up the lottery.

“I’m going to keep playing. I just love visiting my regular outlet every week, so I’ll be back again, that’s for sure,” she said.

“I’ve got a big family so I can’t wait to celebrate and share it with them.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Leongatha Nextra Newsagency, 30 Bair Street, Leongatha. The owner of the newsagency, Deb Watchorn, congratulated the winner and said the news would be welcomed by all the other customers.

“We’ve sold four Division 1-winning entries over the past ten years. The last one was in May 2016 when we sold a $40 million Oz Lotto winning entry.

“It’s fantastic selling lottery tickets to our customers every day. It’s great to give them a chance to dream, and when they win, it’s an amazing feeling knowing it will change their lives. Congratulations to our winner. We are so pleased she has come forward to claim her prize.”

The jackpot for the next Saturday Lotto draw will be $4 million, while Oz Lotto stands at $10 million and Powerball is up to $20 million.
