A Newcastle syndicate and a player from Cabramatta have shared a Powerball First Division prize of $30 million after matching the latest winning numbers. There was excitement across Australia following a run of four draws without a winner, and over 550,000 ticket holders snapped up cash rewards on an exciting night.
The numbers drawn on Thursday 15th June were 6, 23, 24, 28, 31 and 38 with Powerball 12, and the winners have already come forward to claim their money. Robyn Hudson organised the syndicate at her Newcastle City Newsagency, and says several members of the 25-strong group have already been in to celebrate.
“We put this syndicate on whenever the jackpot goes over $10 million and we have the same syndicate members returning each time,” said Robyn, whose store has previously sold two other First Division prizes. “The syndicate members are from the local region and are aged in their 50s to 70s. Many are unregistered players so we look forward to breaking the news to them that they’ve won!”
The other winner has decided to remain anonymous, having bought their ticket at the Cabramatta East Newsagency. As well as landing the jackpot, the lucky player also picked up prizes worth $441,560.35 across the other divisions with their 6-game PowerHit QuickPick. Store owner Thien Tran said: “Congratulations to the winner! I hope they enjoy their prize!”
The Powerball jackpot for the next draw on Thursday night will stand at $3 million, while there are a host of other great prizes to play for this week in Oz Lotto, Set For Life and Monday, Wednesday and Saturday Lotto. You can select numbers online or go to an authorised retail outlet in Australia to have a chance of winning. Good luck!
