Oz Lotto Jackpot of $50 Million Split Two Ways

One of the biggest Oz Lotto jackpots of recent years has been divided between two winners. A player from Rockhampton in Queensland won half of the $50 million Division 1 prize, while the other $25 million went to a Western Australian.
The winning numbers for the draw on Tuesday 25 January were 4, 11, 17, 22, 26, 31 and 36, with supplementaries 6 and 16. There were more than 892,000 winners, but only two tickets matched all seven main numbers.
There have been a few $50 million jackpots in Oz Lotto over the last three years, but the Division 1 prize has not been higher since $80 million was put up for grabs in June 2019.
One of the winners was a mum from Rockhampton, who revealed that she had only played at the last minute when she realised the size of the jackpot. She purchased a 50-game QuickPick online, and was shocked to discover she had won.
“This will just change our lives,” she told lottery operators The Lott when she was told the news. “I’ve already cuddled my family three times while talking to you.
“We haven’t been having much fun in recent times. Now, we’re going to have a nice life. The first thing I want to do is buy a new car for my husband. He drives around an ancient old car. I’m going to get myself a new house.
“I can only think of practical things at the moment. It just doesn’t feel real. I think this has completely derailed my day. I’ll be looking at this ticket all day.”
The other winning ticket was also purchased online, by a player from Western Australia. Lotterywest CEO Jeremy Hubble said: “This is a great way to start the new year.”
