Australia Powerball Offers First Division Prize of $50 Million

Australia Powerball players will have an opportunity to snap up $50 million in the draw on Thursday 5th November after the First Division Prize climbed to its highest amount in over three months. The last time $50 million was won was on 23rd July, when a lucky family from a southern suburb of Perth scooped Western Australia’s biggest ever prize.
The winners, who bought their entry from newsXpress at Armadale Central Shopping Central, remained anonymous but did reveal after coming forward that they would be able to ‘pay off debt, take care of our family and do some much needed home renovations’. Someone else’s dreams could now be set to come true this week following a run of five rollovers which has fuelled a rush on ticket sales.
The First Division prize has been building quickly since one participant landed $6 million on 24th September, with thousands of players picking up great cash rewards but nobody quite managing to get their hands on the jackpot. Eight ticket holders each pocketed $70,288 in last Thursday’s draw on 29th October after matching six numbers, and you can find all the most recent Powerball Results here.
To land the top prize in Powerball, players must match all of the first six numbers plus the Powerball, and the record for the biggest ever win stands at $80 million, back in 2009, when two ticket holders split the cash. The First Division prize will be close to record territory if it rolls over again on Thursday, but it could just be that you strike it lucky if you enter in time. Tickets can be bought online from around the world or from authorised retailers anywhere in Australia. Good luck!
